Obscure Ebooks is powered by the Google Books API and enables users to search for free, public domain ebooks and read them on the Google Books platform. The search results return hidden gems, encouraging readers to discover new books they wouldn't have normally stumbled across through a typical internet search.
I wanted to design an unconventional search page that wasn’t your typical white screen with a search bar. Using flat design elements inspired by Google’s Material Design, I chose to use a muted peach colour scheme and card based layout for the search results page to create an unexpected search experience that still remains easy to scan.
